In school, it's typical to have unhealthy snacks such as cookies and candy. Parents are often concerned about the nutritional value of these snacks. So they often provide healthier options to their children at home. No matter what snacks you choose, it is important to keep them in mind for their energy content, nutrition, and whether they are healthier than some other foods you may be snacking on.

What is the best after school snacks for kids? If you can, try to avoid sugary foods, and the selection of snacks can be overwhelming. But, if you know how to select a few healthy snacks for your kids, you can help them to stay healthy between meals.

Having sugary and starchy snacks not only ruins your child's appetite but also it will ruin their teeth! sugary snacks are usually sticky, by sticking to teeth for a long period of time they can ruin your beloved's teeth and eventually appearance. The result can be cavities and decays harming their overall health. You can try these school snacks healthy ideas instead:

Fresh Veggies - Kale, spinach, collard greens similar to all other Dark, leafy greens   have calcium, vitamin A, vitamin B2, and magnesium–all essential for healthy teeth and gums.

Veggies like broccoli and celery are great too. Not only broccoli is rich in vitamins it has been proven to create an acid resistance shield on teeth. Celery on the other hand will massage gums, cleans teeth and encourages saliva production all due to it's fibrous material. It is a "natural tooth scrubber".

Does your kid like a little crunch to their snack? you can try to make a homemade veggie chips. You can use Celery , sweet Potato , Spinach or Kale. Mix your veggies with olive oil to coat them first , add spices like pepper or garlic and bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, flip your veggies, and then bake until crispy.

Cheese , Milk, Yogurt -  Dairy school snacks healthy is your go-to dental snack! they will give your teeth a great boost of calcium. Cheese and yogurt cut the acidity of oral environment, which will help protect your child teeth from acidic erosion caused by fruit juice.

If your children don't want plain yogurt, fruit and yogurt parfaits are a great option to add some flavor and healthy vitamins to their snack.

High Vitamin C fruits - Lack of Vitamin C can cause collagen breakdown in gums, which can result in bleeding gum and ill teeth, making them tender and more susceptible to bacteria and gum disease.

To make your child's citrus snack fun, you can make fun kabobs with some citrus, berries, and some of their favorite cheeses.
