Tooth Sensitivity Cold!

What causes pain to the teeth?

Cold Tooth Sensitivity is when the teeth are exposed to cold temperature. There are various reasons for experiencing Cold Tooth Sensitivity.

These include:

-Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD)
-Dry mouth
-Toothache or problems with the tooth's pulp
-Dental nerve injury
Localised tooth sensitivity due to tooth decay or another dental issue.

Tooth Anatomy

A delicate layer of hard Enamel covers the crown of each tooth. Below the hard Enamel is Dentin.
It is a hard solid bony tissue that makes up most of the tooth. Dentin has microscopic tubules throughout it's these tubules.

That help each tooth identify what's happening on the outer layer of the tooth. Your Dentist in Melbourne CBD will be happy to show you and explain this further.

Reasons for Sensitivity

Most of the time-sensitivity tends to occur when the enamel veers.
It may be caused by brushing, teeth grinding erosion from acid.
If you take away the Enamel, the tubules in the dentin then become uncovered.
These regular tasks, such as drinking or eating hot and cold items, will alarm your tooth.

It will leave you with an uncomfortable feeling. This means it's time to see your Dentist in Melbourne CBD.

Root Exposure is another reason that causes sensitivityThe Roots main protective barrier is the gums which means that they don't have a layer of Enamel.

Another reason for the sensitivity is cavities. Or a fractured/chipped tooth which could also trigger

defenceless roots.

  4. Routine Appointments with your Dentist so they can schedule X-rays
  5. Stick to brushing and flossing daily. As studies show, this can reduce decay.
